Aggie Dad Fathers Day Tree

The tree is covered with things that are special to Dad ... sports, his college team (A&M), his favorite candy and sweet, enduring notes from the kids!

Awwwww .. I LOVE THIS IRON TREE!!!!!!! I make it special for every occasion I can think of! This of course is for Father’s Day so I put up basketball, baseball & football “ornaments”. His favorite candy bars and an Aggie hat!

The personalized notes from the kids made it extra special!

The basketballs, baseballs & footballs are from the Dollar Tree. The are actually ”Splash & Swim Water Toy’s” that I added hooks to. The total came to $8.00 for all of them!

Changing the strap on this purse made all the difference! Memoe (grandma) used an old piece of braided cord for a longer strap.

BEFORE: Sorry Girls .. I just did NOT see any potential in these Jeans Glad you did!

My girls always keep me on my toes with their current sense of “Style!”. uggghhh, they keep asking me for high waisted jeans, which being a teen in the 80′s means “Mom Jeans” in today’s terms !!! I did find a local thrift shop that was having a huge sale … all shirts, pants, skirt & shorts for only $1.00. For that price the girls can experiment with DIY projects ALL THEY WANT!!!!!!!!!!

When we cut off the legs of the jeans we experimented with the scraps. We tried bleach, tape, paint and all other idea’s before we actually worked on the shorts.

That Old Thing gets Repurposed

This leopard piece of fabric has been in a closet for over 15 years! Added some heavy bouillon fringe and WOW!!!

This leopard scrap of fabric has been with me for over 15 years! I found it in a clearance bin for about $5. It is a very heavy cotton, almost like denim, perfect to cover an ottoman or part of a chair …. I just never found an item to recover! So this has been in a box in the closet, waiting for a purpose. It has lived both in Oregon and in Texas the past 10 years. This year while spring cleaning the closet, I decided to do something with it or get rid of it!

My mom added this gorgeous, heavy bouillon fringe and I am in LOVE with this table topper!!! I am quite happy that I stuck with that old thing all these years!

I love how this fabric drapes off the of the table!

BEFORE: Black Leather Table Runner

The Candlesticks are from a Thrift Store. They were bright white and I painted them a flat gold and then aged them by rubbing a dark brown paint into the crevices.

It’s not very often that I come across cowboy boots and when I saw these I wasn’t sure what they would match or if I should buy them. When my daughter came up with this combination … OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The shirt is from the little Boy’s section. There is an abundance of button down shirts in that section, plus they are usually a nicer quality fabric that doesn’t wrinkle as much. This is a versatile piece that works with almost everything and such a deal at only $3.99!
