11 month old, part lab, NEEDS Home!  Montgomery County Animal Society

I have a good friend who volunteers several times a week at the Montgomery County Animal Society .   She takes a very personal and active approach to helping the animals find the right home for both the owner and the pet.    She shared this story, about Maggie, an 11 month old lab mix, you can see from the pictures she is depressed.

Here is Maggie before her adoption ... happy and full of life!

Here is what my friend told me about her:

“11 months old, part Lab. A lady adopted him but brought him back because the dog she already had got aggressive with her and it scared the kids. This little girl, Maggie, is sweet as can be and very scared. She even cuddled with the bunny that the family had…When they brought her back you could just see every bit of life seep out of her… a shell of a dog.  I need to get her out of there!

She is unbelievably sweet and it pained me to watch her go from a happy dog to the shell of a dog within minutes when they returned her!

Doesn’t even look like the same dog. Heartbreaking… “

Please help in finding her a home!

(Maggie’s shelter ID # is 215240)

Everyone has a Tiny Bit of sunshine SOMEWHERE in their life. Find it!

There is always a bit of happy … Look for the bright spot!

Watching my dog today lay in the tiniest, sliver of sun gave me a mini life lesson about happiness and looking for the bright spot.

If you look very close you will see my white, fluffy dog "Dude" laying in the sliver of sunshine!

If you look very close you will see my white, fluffy dog “Dude” laying in the sliver of sunshine!

It so easy for my dog “Dude” to find comfort in 99% of the house but he chooses to focus on that 1% of sunshine.

This picture shows that only a few inches of the direct light gets in and of course my dog always finds it.  I have done everything I can to keep his itty bitty 4 pound body warm with sweaters, beds in multiple rooms, even a heating pad for the extra cold days, but he would rather lay in the miniscule bright spot!

I watch him and it makes me think that there is ALWAYS a tiny bit of sunshine somewhere in your life … YOU have to find it!

Enjoy your holiday season with family and friends, keeping focus on the positive!    pippa (and Dude)
